Taulu
№ 001 · vs. Asana

Why teams leave Asana for Taulu.

Asana is excellent at structured task lists, but the messy thinking that happens before a task crystallises lives in someone's notebook. Taulu gives you stickies, mindmaps, and a free-form canvas next to a real kanban — so the team can think out loud and then commit work to columns in the same place. Your data stays in the EU and you only pay for people who actually edited that month.

№ 002 · Capability

Side-by-side,
honest.

Rows checked against shipped behaviour, not a sales deck. The bottom group lists what Asana still does better — the comparison is more useful when honest.

№ 004 · Migrate

Bring your Asana workspace in in minutes.

OAuth read-only. We never write back to Asana. Re-run the import any time to refresh.

  1. Step 1

    Connect Asana

From Settings → Integrations, click Connect Asana. We request read access only — no permission to create, move, or delete Asana tasks.

  2. Step 2

    Pick the project

Browse your Asana workspaces and pick the project to import. Both list and board layouts are supported.

  3. Step 3

    Import in seconds

Sections become kanban columns; tasks become kanban cards keeping title, notes, due date, assignee, tags, and subtasks (flattened into the card's checklist). Custom fields are summarised in the card description.

№ 005 · Asked

What teams
ask first.

Are my Asana subtasks preserved?

Subtasks become a checklist on the parent card, preserving up to four levels of nesting using indentation. Each subtask keeps its completion state and assignee.

What about custom fields?

Asana custom fields are appended to the card description as a structured 'Fields' block. If you need them as first-class card fields, they don't migrate one-for-one — but the data isn't lost.

Do attachments come along?

Yes. Files attached to Asana tasks are downloaded into Taulu storage. External links (Drive, Dropbox) come across as links.

Can I keep using Asana side-by-side?

Yes. The import is read-only on the Asana side. Run it again after changes — same project re-imports cleanly.

Where does my data sit after migration?

EU. Postgres, MinIO, and the voice SFU all run in EU regions. Asana stores customer data primarily in the US.
